Driving six kilometers to the east of Nehbandan city, there are the remains of Shahdezh castle over a mountainous area.
Built during the Sassanid era, it is considered as one of the biggest mountain castles in Iran.
In fact a walled city, some 3,000 people resided in the castle back in the time of its glory.
The castle with bastions, alleys, houses, passages and water reservoirs is nowadays a tourist attraction in east of Iran.
